We travelled to the Welsh Assembly yesterday to support Iori Jones and his quest for justice against Carmarthenshire County Council planning department. He has had a very determined, long running battle to have an independant public inquiry into the way he has been treated by the said department. Despite several judges and juries recommending a public inquiry the council have sat back and watched this man nearly die through hunger strikes (the longest was 57 days) and serve a total of 5 years in prison, rather than expose their own systematic abuse of the planning system which has blighted Mr Jones' life.
Yet again, in February last year, he was found not guilty of criminal damage due to having lawful excuse, ie the blame lies with the planning department.
I also note that Eifion Bowen, Head of Planning has again stated that the 'ombudsman has found no maladministration', this is an untruth as Mr Bowen well knows, the ombudsman decided it was out of his jurisdiction (don't they always?) therefore the question of maladministration has never been looked into.
Why aren't our local councillors, AM and MP supporting Mr Jones?
Let's hope that Jane Davidson steps in to investigate Iori's issues and, for the good of the county, the whole planning department.
