Mrs May is going, Carwyn Jones is no longer First Minister, Mark James of Carmarthenshire Couty Council is retiring, Meryl Gravell retired, Chair of ABMU health board Andrew Davies is retiring, the chair of Hywel Dda health board is retiring on health grounds. Vice Chancellor Richard Davies and Marc Clement Dean of Swansea University are suspended, and Sterling Health has been dropped as the private partner in the Wellness Village project. Now we have Nigel Short, chairman of the loss making Scarlets, as new financial adviser for the City Deal. I suspect that in truth, the appointment has actually been made months ago and councillors will be steered towards to chosen candidate.

There's a good write up in the Carmarthenshire Herald on the City Deal discussion at NPT last week. The CEO Steve Phillips sounded deeply unimpressed with the whole thing; it was a waste of time and money, and, mentioning Carms Council, questions went unanswered. The councillors agreed. One said "We are unhappy. We are inclined to give notice. This is subject to changes, and we're working for the people of Neath Port Talbot. There's also the apparent scandal that nobody knows anything about - we'd probably get more information from Private Eye."
The problem is that they have to give 12 months notice so, taking into account the new financial year, they couldn't leave until March 2021, which seems ridiculous. (You may recall though that they pulled out of ERW, the regional education thing a few weeks ago).
It goes to full council tomorrow. Sadly there's no webcast.
caebrwynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17233902574832152764noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-791817892794754996.post-21502128345936559232019-04-21T21:46:12.606+01:002019-04-21T21:46:12.606+01:00

There is deep mistrust between the partners, let alone police investigations and damning reports, and that's before it's even got off the ground.
We'll see what happens.
On the upside, Mr James, with his shady deals, undeclared interests, arrogance and dishonesty, will soon be out of the picture.caebrwynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17233902574832152764noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-791817892794754996.post-23827874750877252952019-04-17T14:25:43.059+01:002019-04-17T14:25:43.059+01:00Mansel Charles is the Chair not daviesMansel Charles is the Chair not daviesAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-791817892794754996.post-66699422562981232252019-04-16T17:22:00.677+01:002019-04-16T17:22:00.677+01:00I hope Cllr Giles Morgan realises the webcast of h...I hope Cllr Giles Morgan realises the webcast of his contribution can be archived in perpetuity.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
