Carmarthenshire Council win Rotten Boroughs' 'PR Plonkers of the Year Award 2012'

I'm sure County Hall will, as we speak, be celebrating their success as winners of Private Eye's Rotten Boroughs' 'PR Plonkers of the Year' Awards for 2012. Along with a special mention in the 'Hellfire Award' for their involvement with the evangelical Towy Community Church, all in all, it's been quite a year. Of course, the 2011 Awards also saw the council honoured too.
We'll look out for today's announcements on the council website.....

See 'Council email reveals truth behind blacklisting of South Wales Guardian
and earlier Eye article regarding Mr De'ath; http://carmarthenplanning.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/carmarthenshire-council-part-94-back-in.html
and much background to the involvement of the Council with the 'hellfire' church can be found throughout this blog.

Congratulations Carmarthenshire County Council.
A well deserved achievement.

At what point in time does the Welsh Government send in Commissioners to run CCC? There is no doubt that Ynys Mon is ar more open, transparent and democratic than CCC and Ynys Mon don't hve a regular column in Private Eye.

Beware the Curse of Gnome....
Appearing twice in the same issue of a satirical magazine - which has just been congratulated by Margaret Hodge and the PAC for its exposure of tax evasion by large companies - should give CCC a few sleepless nights and just shows how low things have sunk. PE will no doubt continue to take an interest...

I totally agree. Many have been saying the same thing for a long time now. Why the leniency towards Carmarthenshire County Council when other Council's have been taken over by Commissioners for far less serious failures. Is there something we're all missing here? The mind boggles!

But which will come first - the Curse of Gnome or a writ of Scandalum Magnatum?

Keep naming and shaming until WAG have no choice but to send in the Commisioners.

Can't for the life of me understand why it hasn't happened months ago.
